Ireland's glittering Television Awards ceremony was back for its fifth year in Dublin's Mansion House. Avcom was again commissioned to provide full technical production for this prestigious event.SOLUTION: The audio was required to cover speeches, entertainment and playback; provided by our Alcon’s Line Array system suspended from the ceiling of the Mansion House, coupled with L’Acoustics fills, and Shure, DPA and EV microphones. High definition Panasonic projectors were used to create powerful images on a large widescreen which was built into the bespoke backdrop. Playback was from Sony DigiBeta & DVD decks and a mix of six camera sources, supplied and operated by TV3, was relayed to the screen to enhance the spectacle for the audience. Our lighting department provided a mixture of generic and intelligent fixtures, to ensure a polished finish to the set, room and show for both the audience on the night and the viewing public. Avcom provided a stage manager to ensure the show continuity, calling all cues and liaising with all parties on the night. The show was broadcast on TV3 with positive feedback from all concerned.
